Gulab Jamun Recipe:

To begin with, let’s first get our resources from a grocery home delivery service nearby. These delivery services allow you to buy items at the comfort of your home. Buy the following items.

  1. 1 cup Maida (All Purpose Flour)
  2. 200 to 220 gms Khoya
  3. ⅛ teaspoon baking soda
  4. Ghee (or oil), for deep frying
  5. 3 to 4 Cardamom or ¼ tsp Cardamom powder
  6. 8 to 10 Saffron Strands
  7. 1 ½ cups sugar
  8. 2 ½ cups water

Method:

  1. For preparing the sugar syrup, add sugar, cardamom powder and saffron in a deep pan. Next add water and bring the mixture to boil over high flame. Reduce flame to medium when you start seeing the sugar syrup coming to life (it is a little sticky). This takes about 10 - 15 minutes.
  2. For deep frying your gulab jamuns, add baking soda and ½ cup sifted maida to your mawa/khoya mix. Gently mix with a spoon. Once mixed knead to form a dough out of which you can create small balls of the mix. Deep fry them on a medium flame in ghee or oil, as preferred. Fry them until golden brown. Keep them aside.
  3. Now heat the sugar syrup for 3 to 4 minutes and add the gulab jamun mix in it to absorb the sweet flavour of the syrup.

Easy peasy! Your Gulab Jamun is ready.
