Many pilots inspect the plane well before the scheduled flight to make sure there are no issues that could cause a malfunction.

During the Flight

While in the air, the pilot has a lot of responsibility. They must fly the plane while monitoring different things such as the weather and aircraft systems. It is also the pilot’s job to communicate via radio, satellite systems, and computers with the company for which they work along with air traffic control.

They must perform all shutdown procedures, to ensure that the plane is properly and safely shut off. They also log any maintenance issues that may come up and complete immigration requirements.
