The Possible Threat to Ad Agencies From Technology
With each passing year, the future really does seem to be now. One only has to look back several decades ago to realize how far society has come in terms of technology. One recent debate that dominates many conversations is whether technology is doing more harm than good and how it is affecting the economy. There are some fears that technology is making industries obsolete, and some worry that marketing agencies are not immune.
New Wants and Needs
There are several industries and jobs that are becoming irrelevant because of a replacement from technology. As technology changes, so do interests and strategies. The Economic Times takes a look at this issue and how it will affect marketing agencies. There is certainly no doubt that advertising strategies have changed quite a bit in the last 30 years. The Economic Times points out how advertising has become more experience-driven rather than just a form of communication. It requires come extremely creative thinking and technology that some firms do not have.
The Economic Times mentions how big-time tech companies are able to handle big creative projects in ways that advertising firms cannot. Experts agree that the thinking process of advertising firms is also much different from that of the big technology companies. All in all, some experts agree that advertising firms have to adapt in order to survive, but it is possible. Although it may take some major changes, advertising firms may very well weather the storm of technology.
Adaptation
Although times are always changing, the one thing that stays the same is human nature. Human nature can be tapped in many ways, and although that process is constantly changing as well, it is always possible to do. Marketing agencies are basically psychiatrists that are able to tap into the minds of the public and know what they want. Through ample research, firms can always find a way to survive.
