Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand (Devbhoomi) are home to some of the prime pilgrimage destinations in India and they have also been mentioned a number of times in the holy Hindu books and scriptures. The 9 Devi Darshan destinations are:

  1. Vaishno Devi Mandir (Katra, Jammu and Kashmir): Popularly known as Mata Rani this Devi shrine is considered to be one of the holiest Hindu temples which is dedicated to Goddess Shakti. This Shakti peeth is the 2nd most visited shrine of India.
  2. Dhari Devi Mandir (Srinagar, Uttarakhand): Is located on the banks of the holy River Alaknanda, in the Garhwal region of the Himalayas. It is popular for being one of the 108 Shakthi sthals along with being one of the 5 Prayagas in India. She is worshipped as a manifestation for Goddess Kali and is home to the upper half of the idol of Goddess Dhari.
  3. Naina Devi Mandir (Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh): Perched on a hillock overlooking the famous and glimmering Gobind Sagar Lake, this temple is created on the spot where the ‘eyes’ of sati fell. It is also known for being the mahishapeeth along with being a highly revered shaktipeeth.
  4. Jwala Devi Mandir (Shaktinagar, Sonbhadra): This 1000-year-old temple is dedicated to Goddess Jwalaji and is one of the prime 51 shaktipeeths of India. At this temple Goddess Parvati’s tongue is worshipped.
  5. Sheetla Devi Mandir (Una, Himachal Pradesh): Located among the tall dense greenery of the hills, this temple is dedicated to one of the several forms of Goddess Shakti.  Perched on top of a hill located close to Chintpurni Devi temple, this ninth devi darshan centre witnesses innumerable pilgrim from all over the subcontinent.
  6. Chamunda Devi Mandir (Kangra, Himchal Pradesh): Is situated at a mere distance of 10 km from the wonderful tourist destination of Palampur. Dedicated to a manifestation of Goddess Durga, Chamunda Devi Temple is supposed to be the holy abode of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
  7. Chintpurni Devi Mandir (Una, Himachal Pradesh): Popular for being one of the  most highly revered pilgrimage destinations of Goddess Shakti in India since it houses her head, this major shaktipeeth is also extremely scenic.
  8. Bajreshwari Mata Mandir (Kangra, Himachal Pradesh): Dedicated to a form of Goddess Durga which is Vajreshwari, this Hindu Shaktipeeth temple attracts a number of devout Hindu pilgrims from different parts of the world to witness the grandeur.
  9. Mata Mansa Devi Mandir (Panchkula, Haryana): This is one of the most prominent Shakti temples in the entire Northern region of India. Numerous devotees throng the holy site during the time of Navratra mela from all over the country be a part of one of the most holy celebrations of the nation.
