THE NEW GEN SAFETY SHOES ARE NAILING THE HANDY WEIGHT

by Vivaan Singh Professional Writer
“Safety First” is the mantra that you need to be chanting and imbibing if you want to extract better productivity. It has spanned across multiple industries and taken many a countries by storm. Responsibility of safety is not a one man task and need to be shouldered equally by the employer and the employee. A big part of ensuring that everyone is as well protected as they can be is by making safety gear a part of the dress code- safety shoes included.

However, safety boots have become a misnomer to heavy duty, high weight shoes. Moreover, many people refrain from making them an essential part of their dress code because they synonymously imagine the shoe design to be that worn by construction workers. Although they are an excellent example, in terms of performance, they are not necessarily the only kind decorating the shelf.

Shoes don’t need to be heavy to be effective. And, we are all guilty of overlooking this key point while placing the orders. What goes a long way in choosing the protective canopy for your feet is selecting the right and industry specific footwear. Discussed in this article are a list of safety shoes that one needs to keep in mind before deciding whether or not to invest in them.

Slip Resistant Safety Shoes

Minor accidents like fall and tripping are quite common in workplace. What cannot be predicted is the seriousness that ensues post falls. These accidents can be however prevented if everyone wears the right shoes to workplace.

Slip resistant safety shoes are one such example. Equipped with highly rugged and combed soles, these shoes offer a better grip on the floor. They are very different from the famous heavy-boots, but come handy in places where the floor is the biggest risk to safety.

Protection and light weight

Light weight shoes can provide serious protection in many situations. Although the heavy boots shield the feet from debris, they are not of much use where the risk of falling objects is less. Instead, workers who toil in places where slip is the common risk should make sure they are wearing light weight shoes whenever appropriate. Two examples of the industry that requires wearing light weight shoes is the hospitality and fishing industry. They are also much essential in the cases where the day to day dealing entails going in and out of cold storage.

Overlooking safety

In industries where slips and falls are not a common issue, the mandatory disposition of equipping oneself with safety gears may go overlooked. However, experts from the field have a strong take on wearing these boots at all times. It is because danger cannot be predicted and the risk might just be lurking round the corner.

Finding the right safety shoes

By now, we have established that the inherently heavy duty shoes are not just the type of safety boots available. Having gone through it, we also need to understand that with diversity comes choice. And, it is the choice that should push us towards making the right decision. Browsing through the available list of industrial leads in this field is much suggested.
