It is summer, which is the season for fun vacations and getaways. Hawaii, Italy, Spain, Costa Rica and Sweden are some popular spots around the world to visit. Where will you go this summer season?

For many people in Utah and all over the world, a vacation is very relaxing and enjoyable, but this can depend on where this trip is taken. Whether it is terrorism or a slip and fall accident, the following places can be dangerous to visit.

Afghanistan

Due to wars, kidnapping and insurgency, Afghanistan is considered to be the most dangerous country in the world, especially for tourists. As beautiful as the landscape and architecture is in this nation, it would be difficult to really enjoy these things without complete security. This is not anything like Utah or similar places.

Mount Everest

Most attempts to climb Mount Everest have ended early due to severe weather conditions, injuries or even death. Slip and fall accidents are common there. Many people dream of one day reaching the “top of the world” in their lifetime, but it can be very dangerous and can cost lives. Only the best of the best should attempt to climb this peak.

Honduras

Some view Honduras as a dangerous country for its crime and lack of proper health care. Vacationing here or living here can make Utah residents feel very insecure.

Iraq

The United States and the United Kingdom are both currently trying to prevent their citizens from visiting Iraq. Although it may not be as dangerous as Afghanistan, it is still not a safe place to go and has similar issues.

Egypt

The U.S. has issued a warning about traveling to Egypt as well. With recent internal conflicts and civil wars running rampant in this country, tourists are not to visit here.

India

Ghandi, who was the harbinger for peace and love hailed from India. Interestingly enough, India is now one of the most dangerous places to live and visit. Women are especially in danger because of an increase in kidnapping and rape in this country.

Mali

Mali sound nice, doesn’t it? It has many artifacts and heritage sites, but military conflicts have hurt the security of the country. Slip and fall accidents are not a major concern, but there are other dangers to consider.

Detroit

To finish off the list, there is Detroit, Michigan. Are you surprised? Slip and fall accidents, war and rebellion don’t plague this city, however, a very high crime rate does.

When planning the next family vacation, remember to remove these places from the list. There are plenty of other great spots around the globe, including Utah, which will provide enjoyment and safety for your next getaway.
