The miracle of the name
The angel spoke thus - “It is the will of the Father that the child be named according to his lights. There will come a day on which his name will be revealed to you.”
Sure enough, a boy child was born at the most inconvenient time, on a mandated visit to register and be audited for tax purposes. The visit went well – indeed, the virgin, her husband and the child became very wealthy because of the gifts presented by three mysterious wise men who had followed a star to see the new-born.
The new family returned home and tried to get back to a normal life. The story of the virgin birth was not known so Joseph was delighted to receive the congratulations and nudges and winks of his neighbours and their envy at his new found wealth.
As the child grew, he exhibited strange powers.
The first thing he did was to express his pacifist leanings by removing the cutting edges from all of Joseph's carpentry tools. “What have you done?” he raged, “How can I earn a living with dull tools?” The child realised the error of his ways and replaced the cutting edges.
Next, the child cured a blind and lame man. “What have you done?” Joseph raged. “How is Ezekiel to make his living now that he can't beg?” The child realised the error of his ways and blinded and crippled Ezekiel.
A few days later, a delegation arrived at Joseph's workshop. He could see that they were very unhappy about something so he shouted at the child “Jesus Christ! What have you done now?”
The miracles around us are legion but how many do we acknowledge? Are things being revealed to us that we are too blind or uninformed to see?

Just plain honesty
The importance of a name is very much over-inflated. There is little evidence that Jesus was actually the Messiah's given name - it is simply assumed from the number of false messiahs at the time that one called Jesus was creating the problem. My third wife was previously married and had two children. I changed my surname so that the children would not need to explain why their name was different to mine and so that my wife would not need to go through the various hassles facing a young mother i

There is Something for Everyone
An interesting read. We are often in such a hurry that we fail to discover the grace of God in our lives. It is now time for us to appreciate what God has been doing for us and give HIM fitting thanks. A little worship will not be out of place. The name is important but, attitude is everything.

I see that the last line of my tale has been ignored or misunderstood. This is about the miracles that are all around us but that we totally fail to recognise, I only used the name as the anchor of the story - it could have been anythng! Apply the same lack of comprehnsion to any of the money-making stories in the Bible and you will be left with nothing but the interpretation put upon them by the self righteous hypocrits who claim to know God´s will. The same hypocrits who seek to judge and con
