The Impact of Kolkata Metro on the Growth of Real Estate

The city of Kolkata is a flourishing metropolis that is currently witnessing rapid development. The development or progress of the real estate sector is a big determinant of the level of infrastructural growth in a particular city. And the last few years suggest that real estate is developing at a staggering rate in Kolkata.

Kolkata, being the capital city and the largest IT hub in Eastern India provides ample of job opportunities for people within and outside the city. It stretched from Tollygunge to further South. As a result, the remote and lesser-known regions such as Naktala, Garia, Narendrapur, Sonarpur, and Bansdroni became an integral part of the city. 

The Garia- Sonarpur belt further benefitted from the extension of the Metro project. The recently completed Kavi Nazrul (Garia Bazar area), Shahid Khudiram ( Briji area), and Kavi Subhash ( New Garia area) have remarkably transformed the connectivity of the Garia-Sonarpur belt.

As a result, these once isolated outskirts started to ignite a fair bit of interests from the top real estate developers and builders in the town. These suburbs had countless acres of land as they were far from the maddening rush. The builders in the city took advantage of this situation and transformed large acres of land into tall and large residential complexes blessed with astonishing luxury quotient.

Today, a large number of residential apartments are developed in the suburbs like Garia or Sonarpur and nearby localities. Also, a new metro rail corridor is coming up. This extension covers areas like EM Bypass, Kalikapur, Science City, Mukundupur, VIP Bazar, and more. This is why there is such a huge demand for 2 BHK or 3 BHK flats in EM Bypass, Kolkata. Added to that, the latest apartments and residential apartments in Kolkata comes with a host of latest amenities such as swimming pool, kid’s playing ground, club, coffee parlour, and more, that ensures luxury living.

There is no denying the fact that apart from price, location is a big factor determining your next dream space. And the metro corridor has made Kolkata a delightful prospect for luxury apartments.
