These suburbs had countless acres of land as they were far from the maddening rush. The builders in the city took advantage of this situation and transformed large acres of land into tall and large residential complexes blessed with astonishing luxury quotient.

Today, a large number of residential apartments are developed in the suburbs like Garia or Sonarpur and nearby localities. Also, a new metro rail corridor is coming up.
