Taragarh Fort
The Taragarh Fort was built by Ajaipal Chauhan, the town’s founder, to guard the city. It is believed to be one of the oldest forts in India. The walls of the fort are said to be a few kilometers in circumference, a fact that only adds to the magnificence of the monument. The fort is a must-visit for every tourist who goes to Ajmer.
Adhai Din Ka Jhonpda
The Adhai Din Ka Jhonpda was built to be a Sanskrit college, but it was later converted into a mosque by Sultan Ghori in 1198 AD. The structure was later beautified by Sultan Iltutmish in 1213 AD, and presents an alluring combination of Indo-Islamic architecture. According to the legends, it was named so because
of a two and half day fair held here during Urs in the 18th century.
