What kind of vehicle comes to mind when you hear the words “tough” or “rugged”? Most people think of trucks when they hear these and other similar words. However, it might be time to change the definition of tough and rugged, as well as the kind vehicle for which these characteristics define.

There is a new sheriff in Utah and elsewhere and they are calling him the 2016 Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV. This vehicle is built from the bones of a Ford F-250 Lariat 4×4 pickup truck. It might be safe to see it is back in black at many dealers nearby.

VelociRaptor SUV

Over the past decade, Ford, its employees and its dealers have been determined and committed to innovation and excellence. They developed the Raptor truck, which can handle just about anything.

Now, with the help of Hennessey Performance in Texas, they have been able design and produce a tough and rugged vehicle that was created with DNA from the F-250, the Raptor and even the Excursion to unleash a beast for the SUV game.

This “super SUV,” as many are calling it, boasts four doors, middle row captain’s chairs and of course contains a lot of power under the carriage and hood. This vehicle is so durable and versatile that it could very well become the next preferred vehicle for the military in Utah and all across America.

The Specifications

Normally, the Ford F-250 offers 411 horsepower from its V8, 6.2-liter gas engine. After getting a little overhaul from the Hennessey crew, however, these numbers jump to about 600 or 650 horsepower. How’s that for a cherry on top?

The look and feel has also received some upgrades. A slightly larger, more durable bumper sits in front as well as a strong rear bumper in back. It also has received quite the upgrade to its off-road suspension.

Ford dealers in Utah and all over the nation are excited for these enhancements to the vehicle model. Do not be surprised if a black tank-like SUV comes bounding down a road near you soon.
