The Concerts With Highest Attendance
The live concert is something magical. Somehow even a song that is not actually your favorite one has a different more live feeling when it's performed right in front of you. The fact that you will never hear it performed exactly like that also makes it a lot more special. There are so many things that the live concert gives you compared to a CD recording. And speaking of concerts there are good ones, poor ones, great ones and ones that history will always remember. So let's talk a little about that last kind - the concerts with highest attendance ever. It's a bit of a dilemma is it better to have millions at a concert or that a few thousand are just about enough. And it really depends what your mood is. If you want to see the performer/s well than going to a concert where the crowd is enormous will not be such a good plan. But if you're there to hear the music, enjoy the fireworks and the crowd experience then the more people the better.
So for what's worth the two concerts that top the chart are with
approximate attendance of 3.5 million. Just imagine what will it be having so much people at one place all focused in one event. The experience of the performer must be something that not anyone can handle. The first of the two concerts that gathered that magnificent amount of people was the Rod Steward concert during New Year's Eve at Copacabana Beach. This is also the concert that is credited by the Guinness World Records as the one with highest official attendance ever. The other major event that has been credited with a similar attendance is the concert of performer Jean Michelle Jarre in the Russian capital Moscow - held in celebration of the city’s 850th anniversary. These two were without doubt something
amazing in terms of experience. I wouldn't want to imagine the mess that was left after that, it would surely be a challenge for the best professional cleaners out there. But regardless of that whoever got the chance to attend one of these events was surely left with memories for live.
The second place is also reserved for the master of music shows Jean Michelle Jarre, but this time the event held place in Paris and it was in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution. About 2.5 million people were gathered to watch the amazing spectacle for which a special pyramid shaped scene was constructed and 65 tons of fireworks were blown in the air. A night in which the entire city of Paris was a wake and celebrating under amazing musical and lightning show.
The concert in third place was probably one of the most influential in
history. 28th of September 1991 the concert Monsters Of Rock held in Moscow headlined by AC/DC, Metallica, Pantera had an approximate attendance of 1.6 million people. Although that count is not sure because the entry was free, but it is known that the stage for the concert was the Tushino International Airport and 11.000 Russian soldiers were appointed to keep the peace during the event. The concert had no particular reason and it is being said that this is the largest attendance without any particular reason except the music itself, but some claim that it was actually a celebration of the recently fallen Soviet Union. Either way it was something amazing that also had a grim side leaving 53 people dead as a result of the massive gathering.
Regardless of the reasons they were held for these concerts remain in history as the ones that attracted the biggest audience and will definitely remain in history.
