How to Get a Medical Marijuana Card Online in Florida

Florida has made it easy for patients to get their medical marijuana card. Thankfully, one of the ways they’ve done that is by streamlining the process through their online portal.

You can register for your medical marijuana card online in Florida with just a few simple steps:

1. Establish care with a physician and ensure they have your email address to place you on the registry. For this step, contact one of My Florida Green’s doctors. 

2. Utilize Florida Health’s government website to set up your account and pay the fees online. 

3. If you have any trouble or any questions, simply call 1-800-808-9580 to get yourself sorted through the process. Once you pay online, the process of approval should take no more than 5 days. Then you’re ready to go but, are you able to grow.

Get Your Florida Medical Marijuana Grower’s License?

Unfortunately, there’s only one individual who can grow their cannabis in Florida. The rest of the grower’s licenses are reserved for businesses with years of established nurseries. 

As sad as that may be for people who would prefer to grow their own medicine, there may be some light at the end of the tunnel. According to the Tamba Bay Times, when Joe Renders won his case for the right to grow his own medical marijuana, it signaled that the State won’t be able to uphold the ban on homegrown medicine forever. 

While the State fights the battle against people growing their own plants, there is a way to get a grower’s license if you fit the business requirements:

● The grower’s nursery must be at least 30 years old.

● The business should have at least 400,000 plants.

● The business must provide proof that they can withstand the massive start-up costs, and         show that they can withstand any financial downfalls for at least two years. 

● Lastly, they’ll have to battle with the State to even get a license, as they are trying to limit the number of grower’s licenses even offered, according to Orlando weekly.

Currently, Florida is not letting people grow their own medical marijuana, but that shouldn’t stop you from getting your medical marijuana card space coast .
