Terrible Web Design That We Are All Glad to Have Out of Our Lives

Terrible website design used to be much easier to find, and still can be found, but the web has become much more attractive over the past five years. Developers and other web personnel are focusing more and more on the fact that a strong web presence is very valuable for any organization. Good looking and great functioning webpages and the elements within are key factors to obtain that presence.

Here are a few things that have passed away within the web world that have made many people happy in Utah and everywhere else:

Lack of Project Management Software

The lack of software to organize our thoughts, ideas and various projects and tasks was a tough time. Now with access to resources like Basecamp or Capterra, companies can run much more efficiently and productively. Every team and the people within those teams will know what to do and can correspond easily back and forth to their co-workers and supervisors. It is a much better time to live in, regarding workload and efficiency.

Too Much of One Thing

Website design is looking really good now, but it has suffered many tough eras, including one long era where it was “acceptable” to have text content filling up webpages (we are still dealing with this here and there on the Internet with atrociously designed sites like Reddit).

On the other hand, pictures can also be too overwhelming if used too often. However, sites usually look better with more images than text, if the text is thoughtfully and innovatively placed on a page.

Images Using Corel Paint

Remember that drawing and image alteration software called Corel Paint? It has gotten better over the years, and it changed its name as well to “Corel Painter”, maybe because it wanted a new life and had to leave the old one behind.

Anyway, the older versions of this program were the best we had. You could do just about anything art-related, from drawing to cropping and cutting to resizing. However, that was the extent of the program. The quality was also pretty bad. It was something that most in Utah and elsewhere were glad to leave behind.

Considering the bad website design time periods we trudged through, we have done pretty well since then. Bad web designs are starting to be a thing of the past, thankfully.
