TEN SIMPLE STEPS TO RIDE WITH BETTER CONTROL OF THE ROAD

by Samuel Charles SEO
Roadways are by far the most used mode of transportation in the current world. It is also the most dangerous mode of transport. As per statistics, for every 1 billion miles travelled 212.57 people and 7.28 people lose their lives on motorcycles and cars respectively. It is always advisable to have insurance covered for the vehicles. There are several car and bike insurances online nowadays which make the process easier.

There are some simple precautions one can take to have a better control of the road:

- Periodical maintenance. From time to time check the brakes, alignment of tyres, wheel balancing, oil levels etc.  This will make sure you have a safe ride.

- Obey traffic rules. Always strictly abide by the traffic rules.

- Patience. Having a lot of patience while driving will easily avoid many risky situations. Always better late than never.

- Go easy on the brakes. Do not press the brake hard when you need to stop. This not only makes the vehicle go out of control but also gives less reaction time to the driver behind you.

- Know your circumstance. When driving at places with low illumination or wet roads always keep a slow pace. You cannot see ahead in low lit areas and wet roads provide lesser friction to stop the car.

- Do not tailgate. Tailgating is when the vehicle ahead of you decides to overtake another vehicle in front and you go along with it. Doing this blinds of you of oncoming traffic.

- Use horns on highways. On highways, when you want to overtake another vehicle indicate it forehand by using the horn as a signal. This is necessary since the vehicles are travelling at high speeds.

- Dim lights. On poorly lit streets make sure to dim your lights to help oncoming drivers.

- Have insurance. It is important to have insurance covered. Have a copy of insurance with you or have a car or bike insurance online.

- Do not race. Don’t go racing another vehicle knowingly or just because another vehicle overtook you. Drive at your own pace.
