Telstra and Microsoft Integrated to Deliver Cloud Voice Services for Office 365 in Australia

Microsoft has announced a partnership with Telstra, a telecommunication carrier in Australia to provide Cloud Voice service for Office 365 by using Microsoft Cloud. Microsoft Cloud voice service can be availed by Telstra Business customers in Australia from mid of 2018.

This service will support calling plans for Telstra utilizing from both Skype for business and Microsoft Teams that are the giant software used for the chat-based workspace in Office 365. Also, this workspace allows users to access cloud collaboration and voice service from Telstra Calling for Office 365


“We are always looking for ways we can make it easier for our customers to connect”- says Michelle Bendschneider, Executive Director of Global Products, mentioned that the employees of Telstra tries to connect in lots of various ways, but they don’t want to face any hassle of different methods.

To complete his statement Michelle also added–“Telstra calling for Office 365 brings the full scope of Office 365’s cloud productivity and collaboration apps that include video conferencing and meeting broadcast capabilities with Telstra voice calling”. He also stated that “By combining what have traditionally been separate collaboration channels, we are helping to increase productivity while simplifying the experience for employees”.

The telco also stated that 30 Telstra customers and partners are presently taking part in an Early Adopter Program. Apart from this, the product has been of interest for last six months and more than 200 Telstra customers have taken part in this survey.

Dustin Kehoe, Director of Research for Global Data Asia Pacific commented on the collaboration benefits of the solution for Enterprise customers.

Business grade voice coupled with collaboration apps, like Office 365, will accelerate the migration from traditional services, such as an IP PBX, to the cloud.”
