Taking Care of Internal and External Health
Obesity is one of the major health issues across the world right now, and it is at the centre of most of the diseases that could easily be avoided by weight loss.So if you or your loved one are suffering from ill-health whose root cause is excess weight, perhaps it’s time to embark on a weight loss journey. Below are some simple ways of losing weight which are both effective and easy to follow:
1. Understand how calories work: One pound of fat is created by an excess of 3500 calories, and so, technically to achieve a weight loss of one pound per week, you will have to reduce your calorie consumption by 3500 calories every week. Sounds difficult, but this is quite an achievable goal if one follows a cautious and healthy lifestyle.
2. Control your diet: This is not the same as dieting to loseweight by starving your body of food and various essential nutrients. On the contrary, this step ensures that the body is getting the recommended quantity of nutrients while eliminating empty calories from our diet. The only way one should reduce their calorie consumption for weight loss is by giving up unhealthy food such as fast food, soda, excess sugar and alcohol, etc. Additionally, up your intake of healthy foods such fruits, vegetables, fish, certain meats, etc. which will provide the required levels of protein, vitamins, minerals, and good fat to your body.
3. Exercise: More than for weight loss, exercising is beneficial for maintaining a healthy body and mind. If done regularly along with healthy eating habit, exercising boosts the process of weight loss and helps maintain it for longer periods of time. And needless to say, it reduces the risk of falling sick, which reduces the risk of medication induced weight gain.
Apart from the above, there are certain important don’ts which one should follow if they are serious about losing weight. These include: drinking enough water, giving up smoking and drugs, avoiding stress, and getting sound sleep every night.
However, losing weight is just a part of the whole story. Many people (especially women) indulge in unhealthy ways of losing weight which directly impacts their looks and skin. Drastic weight loss sometimes leaves the skin patchy, pigmented or even dry and dark. And to counter this, these women then resort to cosmetics and methods like skin bleaching to improve their skin tone.
Skin bleaching is a process that makes the skin appear fairer in no time, but a bleach uses certain chemicals which should not be used for long periods of time. And so, try avoiding bleaching your skin if there are better and healthier alternatives.
