How To Create Irresistible Offers And Sell More Stuff Than You Ever Thought Possible!
The Power of Curiosity
The reason curiosity is so powerful is because you can use it as a sales tool in two amazing ways:
1. As part of your product description. In other words, you can make people curious about the product itself.
2.You can also use curiosity in your sales copy. If you can get people curious about what you'll tell them next, they'll keep reading.
Let's talk about the product first
Generally when people buy something from a store (where they can handle the merchandise) there isn't much curiosity involved. However, if you're selling online - and especially if you're selling information products like ebooks - curiosity works in your favor.
Let's suppose you're selling an ebook about herbal remedies. One of the benefits you list could be something along the lines of this example:
Turn to page 27 to discover which common herb wipes out acne and leaves you with a clean, glowing face after just one application!
Notice that this sentence packs a wallop because not only does it focus on what benefit the prospect will receive (a clean, glowing face), but it also arouses the curiosity of the prospect. The prospect can't help but think, I wonder what herb? Do I have it in my garden or cupboard?
Arousing curiosity is like making the prospect itchy. And the ONLY way she can scratch that itch (AKA satisfy her curiosity) is to buy your product.
Notice in the above example there's an extra punch: we've added a page number. The prospect knows that if she buys and downloads the ebook right now, within minutes she can scroll to page 27 to satisfy her curiosity.
In other words: not only do you have to make the prospect curious, you also need to let her know that she can satisfy that curiosity immediately if she buys now. (That plays into instant gratification, which we'll talk about later.)
The second way to use curiosity is by injecting it into your sales copy itself. In just one moment you'll discover the secret of making sure your prospect hangs on your every word. (You won't believe how well this little trick works!)
But first, consider this
The only way a prospect will buy your product is if he reads your copy so anything you can do to ensure he reads it WILL boost your sales! The longer you keep your prospect's eyes on your copy, the more he'll absorb the benefits and the more his desire for that product will increase.
So what's the secret to using curiosity in your copy?
Simple: by leaving the prospect hanging for a moment just the way I left you hanging a couple moments ago! A few lines ago, I told you that you'd discover a secret - and to further stoke your curiosity, I mentioned that you won't believe how well it works.
Then I left you hanging and a little curious about what this secret might be.
You had to keep reading.
And your prospect will too - if you hype up and hint at a benefit, and then leave 'em hanging.
When you finally satisfy their curiosity, arouse the curiosity again - even something as simple as saying, but wait, there's more! will keep them curious and reading! And you'll keep them hooked right down to your order button!
