A Talk About Faith

Funny how things work out, faith has 3 sides. One can see this in a triangle, also noted as the strongest geometric figure known to man. A triangle has a strong foundational base along with supporting walls that support each other.

Sometimes we don't have faith in ourselves and it takes someone else's faith to lift us up. Faith is one of those things that is free. We can't buy it, it is inborn. Without having sufficient faith in what we do, we would never be really motivated to excel in anything.

Faith shares an alliance with resolve. When we have sufficient faith, it turns into belief. We no longer have just a hope, but a dream of what can be and what can be manifested by our own belief in ourselves or others.

To have faith is not to put the blinders on; it is to release the light from within. There may be people who don't believe they have enough faith. That is not true. One goes to work and they believe they will arrive. That is faith, which is not blind, that faith is belief and the resolve is that one will arrive to their destination.

Faith in the unseen is the stuff that life is made of. We come from nothingness and leave this world the same way, generally with the belief that our spirit will return to its maker. Even atheists have faith. They simply do not recognize that they have it.

Could you imagine not having faith? How would you get up in the morning if you didn't believe that you will survive the day? Maybe it isn't the blinding, light shinning, ideal popping and unshakable spark from within, but in a small way having faith that you will get up, get going and have a productive day.

When things are at their darkest, I am always reminded of the biblical statement "oh ye of little faith." This does start the wheels turning at least in my own mind. This statement reflects that when someone loses faith in themselves, the divine or others, it inevitably thwarts their motivation and the belief that some challenge has arrived to shake their faith.

There are times when we may find ourselves in a dark place. We may find ourselves in the midst of some challenge, when we feel abandoned, misled and even betrayed. It is at these times when we must have faith in the unseen and that which is possible. Every time I think of the statement above it brings a smile to my face, only because I know that faith will bring about that which I long for.

Is it not comforting to know, that maybe if you invested some faith in yourself, others and the divine, that maybe things will work themselves out. You see when you lose faith, you allow fear to replace the belief that answers will come to your dilemma.

As I have mentioned before, faith is allied to resolve. If one does not have a strong resolve then one does not have sufficient faith in themselves. If you are spiritual then faith in the divine will give you strength in times of darkness. We all have dark times, but they will only last for as long as we have lost faith in our maker, ourselves and others.

Faith spurs on action for us to do our part in this world, be it small or large. We may not ever know when our faith will be tested and called into action. Faith none the less will be what we can grab onto no matter what plight we may be experiencing. That is the marvel of man. We can see more in ourselves than meets the physical eye.

Faith in oneself is very important to have, because without it one can not gain confidence in anything that they do. This is an intrinsical part of our nature. The one thing that you must learn is that great faith in yourself works the other way to, we call it self esteem. Faith of being less than who you are will bring that same belief and behavior along with it.

Faith in others is also a grant of trust. When you have faith in others they do resonate with that. It feeds confidence to others that they will achieve the goals or objectives by the very nature of your words, support and actions. How wonderful it is when someone states to another that I have faith in your abilities and talent. It inspires action and a unique bonding between two people.

Faith in the divine is what we usually identify when we talk about faith. Any religious discipline has always placed faith above all else. For it is from ancient times to present, that faith is a constant message. Faith is belief in the unseen. You have it with the divine and it is reinforced through your actions.

We can not posses the slightest confidence without faith as a support or construct in our psyche. Faith releases our internal lights so that we can see the road ahead. We must learn not to fear faith but to embrace it as our inner light which maps our path in life and that is my message to you.
