At any age, children may feel angry, shocked, sad and uncertain if their parents are splitting up. Even many times, kids feel guilty and start blaming themselves for creating problems at home.   • Talk to your kids

Normally children face difficulty in expressing their feeling therefore being parents you should encourage them to talk with you and share their feelings. Maybe you are not able to fix their problem or change the situation but it is important to acknowledge their feeling rather than ignoring them.

  • Tell your kids that they are not at fault

Most of the kids start blaming themselves for their parents’ divorce and recalling the times when they argued with their parents. It’s your responsibility to help your children by eliminating such kind of misconception. Make them assure that both the parents will continue to love them and they are not at all responsible for the divorce. Your love and support play a significant role in healing the pain of your children.

  • Physical Closeness

Show your physical closeness in the form of pats on shoulder, hugs or simple proximity that help your children to reassure your love and support. If your children raise their concerns or anxieties and you don’t have any answer for it, then say gently that you are not sure about it but everything will be fine.
