What are Barres?
Barre is a handrail that is
mainly used while doing ballets and exercises to as a support tool. It
is mainly of steel, metal woods or plastic and usually used in ballet
dance by the dancers when practicing their steps with the help of a
supporting handrail by holding it. It can also be used by people in gyms
or even homes to exercise or to train and warm up with the help of a
supporting tool. Barre can be either attached to a wall permanently in a
place where it is use or a portable one with stand that is strongly
placed somewhere and can be moved and adjusted anywhere it is needed.
Barres are also made of parallel handrail to be used as per the
preference of the user and also according to their heights.
Basic Barre Uses
Though
the barre is mainly used in ballet and gyms, it can also be used for
other purposes such as gymnastics, free standings, stretching and many
more other workouts. Barre while being used for exercises, includes
basically fast and slow types of exercising patterns as per the working
intensity of the person to work on their muscle or to stretch. Slow type
of barre exercise is done to warm up or for doing slow and minor
exercises. But fast exercises are done with the help of barre mainly in
the ballet dancing to maintain the positions and moves of the dancers to
enhance their steps and move properly. Aside from its using patterns,
barres when used in exercising is basically done to strengthen muscles
and other body parts like feet and legs, to increase extension, for
being more flexibility, and to maintain a proper posture. In case of
ballet dancers, they use barre usually for maintaining the proper
dancing posture as well, and to stretch their arms and legs while doing
their stretching moves as a holding support.So, barre can usually be
found in gyms, and the people using them to do stuffs like pushups and
other training exercises, in the ballet dance studios where the ballet
dancers stretch and do their moves by holding it with one hand or leg as
a support.
