Think about it: when was the last time you conducted a search on Google or Bing and then actually took the time and energy to venture onto the second page of your list of generated results? If you’re answering honestly, it’s probably been quite some time.

It’s for that very reason search engine optimization (SEO) has become such a valuable practice for professional pushers of products and services. Truthfully, from Utah to other parts of America, the digital marketing battle is being won or lost on the first page of most search engine results.

With that in mind, there’s yet another trend that’s taken the world of digital marketing by storm: social media. From Facebook and Twitter to Pinterest and Instagram, social media markets from all over the country are cashing in on the world’s biggest networking craze.

Working Together

With both of these trends having such a great impact on the Internet’s latest advertorial practices, it’s easy to wonder about the potential crossover impact they could see when working in conjunction.

Believe it or not, they very much work together. In fact, for starters, many SEO experts—be they from Utah or states out on America’s East Coast—consider social shares one of the best new ways to build links. Seeing as how Google’s SERPs, for example, are greatly affected by the number of linkbacks that take users to your site, the more links that refer back to your site, the better.

An Emphasis On Social Prowess

That being said, due to such an algorithmic strategy, many black-hat SEO techniques came into play. Google’s response? Even more of an emphasis on social links. Basically, there’s little a company can do to trick search engines when everything is user generated on social media.

Because of this, it’s important for SEO specialists—both inside and outside the state of Utah—to place a great deal of emphasis on becoming an industry-leader or credible source out on the Internet’s many social networks.

To accomplish such a feat, make certain that your brand’s social profiles are relevant, reach the correct audiences and resonate with any and all followers. As can clearly be seen, in today’s digital day and age, social media and SEO go hand in hand.
