Slimming Down the Ford Raptor

Five years ago in 2010 the Ford F150 Raptor was first introduced, but the company has made great strides since then and recently set the bar pretty high for trucks after unveiling their new model of the Raptor.
Normally, F150 is tough and rugged, easily handling Utah terrain. This is what the truck is known for. However, after recent upgrades and enhancements, and maybe a lot of critical thinking, the new Raptor is getting all the attention from truck enthusiasts in Utah and all over the world.
So, you are probably wondering what these upgrades actually are that Ford has made to enhance the truck. There are some key factors to the newly improved model. First, the body went on a huge diet, so to speak. The steel frame and body were both replaced with a layered aluminum one. This ended up shaving 700 pounds off the overall weight of the vehicle. Sometime bigger is not always the better solution.
The truck may be built like a soda can, but it is un-crushable. Also, the truck still packs a lot of power, with a 500 horsepower V-8 engine. It also has the capability of hitting 60 mph in under eight seconds. These specs are pretty good for a truck, right?
The Raptor also has 35-inch tires, off-road suspension and widened fenders for climbing and covering all types of terrain with ease, speed and maneuverability. It is the true definition of beast – in truck form – speeding over crags and other tough landscapes at 100 mph with no issue.
Additionally, the truck has never been priced at more than $50,000. This is actually very affordable for a top-of-line F150 truck. Isn’t it interesting that some people are paying thousands of dollars more for less-quality vehicles?
Unfortunately unlike most car models, Ford does not release a new version of this truck every year. There have new Raptors every year since 2010, but there hasn’t been a new model since 2014. The next model will not be released until 2017 to dealerships in Utah and elsewhere. You will have to wait to get your hands on one of these beauties until then.
Ford is also experimenting with aluminum and carbon fiber for future models of the F150 Raptor, and this will be exciting to learn more about the up and coming innovations the company has to offer for truck lovers in Utah and elsewhere. Stay tuned for exciting new updates.
