Signs That Your Reliable Security Guards Snoozes During Their Shifts

by Eva Spenser Innovation

Security guards are entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding their business during after-hours. And truth be told; most security guards work day and night for long hours.

Unfortunately, majority of the security companies do not provide you with anyway of knowing whether their security guard hire in Sydney is active all time or not. And that potentially puts your property in a vulnerable position- especially if the hired guard has a habit of drifting off to dreamland during his shifts.

Fortunately, there are some common signs which you can use to catch them.

  • They Take Awfully Long Intervals During Their Patrols:-

Does your security guard take awfully long patrolling intervals? If so, then you should check their logs and records. Also, check their patrolling hour pattern and look for any inconsistencies.

If you find long gaps in-between, then it can be a sign that your guard sleeps during his shift.

  • They Appear Disoriented, Groggy, And Even Ill-Dressed When You Pay Them An Unexpected Visit:-

It is easy to tell whether a security guard is active or a bit groggy, especially when you pay an unexpected visit to them. And if it is the latter, then you know that your guard has been sleeping on the job.

  • You Notice The Lights In The Security Area Are Turned Down More Often:-

Lights in the security area should be turned on at all times. But when you find them turned off, then it sends out a clear indication that there’s isn’t anyone to watch over whatever is happening.

With the lights off, this serves as one open invitation for the crooks and burglars to get into the property. So, if you notice that the lights around the security area are more off than on, mostly after-hours, then that is an indication that your security guard may be snoozing during his shifts.

  • You Come Across A Balled-Up Shirt To Use As A Pillow:-

Most security guards ball up their shirts/t-shirts or any piece of cloth to use as a pillow. These pieces of clothes might not be as soft as a normal pillow, but they surely get the job done for these security guards.

  • Last, (And Most Obvious)- You Find Footprints On The Chair:-

It is normal for most security guards to sleep with their feet up in support of another chair to extend their legs properly and relax. However, while doing so; they leave behind their footprints/shoe-prints on their chair and in most cases are too ignorant to wipe it and re-arrange it.

If you notice footprints on the chair with another chair close to it as a mode of support, then that is a clear sign that your security guard uses it to take a nap.

These are some common indications which you need to focus on to prevent your reliable security guard from snoozing. And if you find that they are not up to your standards, then replace them with more competent security guards for your Sydney property.
