Screw thread steel bar market in Italy and Algeria

Currently, Italian domestic screw threaded steel bar market remains stable, and prices are basically at the same level with last week. Local producers are offering 12-28 mm screw threaded steel bar.

 

According to relative sources, Italy domestic producers have turned to domestic market after exporting less, but buyers on the contrary show more interesting to oversea products. Even though there are some moderate restocking activities recently.

 

During the given period,Spanish screw threaded steel bar offers to the export markets have remained unchanged at $337-342/mt FOB, for December shipment. Meanwhile, Italian screw threaded steel bar offers to the export markets have declined by $5.4/mt in the same period to $337-342/mt FOB, for December shipment.

 

Market sources state that buyers in Algeria which is the most important full thread steel bar market of Spanish and Italian exporters accelerated their inquiries last week, while demand in Algeria is at weak levels this week. Algerian buyers were reluctant to conclude new deals in light of the recent downward trend seen in prices.

 

Nevertheless, last week the downtrend in the prices came to a halt and Algerian buyers started to conclude new bookings. In the current week, transaction activity in Algeria has slowed down once again with buyers not in any rush to do business due to their year-end considerations.
