Saskatchewan hopes to attract more immigrants in 2022
Under the Labour
Mobility and Fair Registration Practices Act
Saskatchewan is hoping that a new piece of legislation for the
immigrants to become the preferred Canadian destination for immigration from
all over the world. Saskatchewan is allowing boosting its population to 1.4
million in just eight years.
The population of the Prairie province (the Canadian provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta,
in the northern Great Plains region of North America) has risen to slightly over 1.18 million people. That
implies Saskatchewan expects to add another 220,000 people, or around 18.7%, to
its population by 2030.

The province introduced the Labour Mobility and Fair
Registration Practices Act earlier this month to assist it in meeting that
demographic objective while also creating 100,000 jobs over the following eight
years for all Canada PR holders.
To Improve Credential Recognition, Congress Passed the Labor
Mobility and Fair Registration Act.
"We must improve our present labour force and recruit
domestically and globally to bring more talented individuals to Saskatchewan to
fulfill the demands of the province's booming economy," stated provincial
Immigration Minister Jeremy Harrison.
This new legislation will be the most comprehensive, making
Saskatchewan a preferred destination for qualified professionals and
tradesmen," says the Premier.
The act will increase credential recognition for foreign-trained
workers and assist employers in vital industries like healthcare, construction,
and information technology filling jobs that are now unfilled due to a shortage
of qualified applicants. The act will be administered by the Labour Mobility
and Fair Registration Practices Office, which will assist regulatory
authorities in completing their requirements.
This will include working with the regulatory bodies to examine
time frames for registration decisions, registration application requirements,
qualification assessment processes, and internationally-trained recognition
pathways," the province noted in a statement.
Many other Canadian provinces have legislation that requires
regulatory agencies to follow domestic trade agreements and encourage fair
registration practices for globally qualified professionals. The new
legislation has received two thumbs up from industry organizations.
As the demand for Saskatchewan's food industry, fuel and
fertilizer workers is increasing and expected to increase even more in the
coming years, it is becoming critical that Saskatchewan can meet the labour
needs. So, it's the best time to apply for the Saskatchewan PNP
