Safe Your Data by Sage Automatic Backup

Sage has the functions of automatic backup which use to be on default. This maintains and creates backups of every installation on the system. Basically, for the small businesses it is to some extent beneficial and doesn’t create a problem but for the organization with large resources and large manpower, it creates lots of problem in accountant system.

If you want to create an automatic backups run successfully you are required to modify the configuration and setup where the data is stored in Sage 50 organization. If the purpose is not to meet, the backup will not be generated. But Sage at times has a problem Sage 50 Automatic backups fail, the stored data in Temp file is never deleted and backup cleanup is not taken into account. As a result, some large data is buildups.

Resolution step for Sage Automatic backup

1.Open Sage 50 account > click File > Click Automatic Backup.  Automatic Backup set up can also be started from the Start menu desktop menu

2. Select Browse within the Company directory and choose the company directory from the menu

3. Select Browse within  Save Backup and choose the target folder to save the backup files 

4. In case the organization has users set up:

   a.Type the username of Sage 50 

   b.Type the Password 

   c.Validate the password 

   d. Press Verify User Details

5. Under Include, if presented

  • Verify organization backup file name 
  • Verify Archived companies
  • Verify Attachments 
  • In case, a backup file already exists, choose the desired backup list option. It is suggested to use automatically generate a new backup file. 
  • Verify that Log out users is prior to running backup 
  • And then Click Save
  • Select a save destination and an appropriate File Name for the set up file. The organization directory is suggested
  • And then Click Save
  • Press Schedule
  • Choose the desired backup schedule, usually, the weekly backups are suggested the most
  • Click OK
  • Type the passwords when passwords promote appear on the screen and then click OK

Note: The Windows Task Scheduler necessitates the system user account has a password confirmation to entry into the account. This work can’t be scheduled if the user account does not necessitate a password to log in.

  • Click Save
  • To complete the backups successfully, you don’t need to open Sage 50, but Windows must be logged in on the system that created the sage 50 backup data.
  • If you have  sign up to the Sage 50 business account at the scheduled backup time and if the option list is not enabled to Log out users prior to running backup  then the backup will not be proceed
  • It is suggested to save the backups to a particular folder configuration for backup files, and locate this folder backed up to an external drive or off-site location especially to avoid data loss.
  • Log in into automatic backups, peruse to the location where the backup set-up file was saved, and start the .txt file with the same name
