Rural Development through Entrepreneurship - Vikasa International Center
Entrepreneurship in underdeveloped regions is a proven catalyst
for transforming the lives of the poor, and positively contributing to
community growth. The inherent promise of micro-entrepreneurship is that by
setting up small business units catering to specific rural demands, a family
can lift itself out of debt, educate its children adequately and move up the
socio-economic ladder. Creation of employment opportunities at the village
level is integral to curbing migration to towns and cities, and directly feeds
into a healthy economic ecosystem. It also leads to equitable opportunities
Vikasa aimed at raising awareness about Entrepreneurship in underdeveloped regions to change the life of the poor by transforming their creative Ideas to Entrepreneurship.
We have
been working with women and youth for over 35 years, and it is this experience
and expertise we bring to our micro-enterprise development initiative. Our
focus will be on removing impediments to micro-entrepreneurial success by
fortifying their knowledge and management practices with key business skills
and improving their access to investment and financial linkages. In this
regard, we create a space for capability development on:
·
Assessing local need based services / products
·
Feasibility assessment, developing a sound business model
·
Assigning value, costing, pricing
·
Market and competitor analysis
·
Value addition and value chain
·
Institutional linkages and mentoring
