Central Street, originally built in 1898 with its its former name "China Street". It changed name as "Central Street" in 1925 and later developed into the most bustling commercial street among the whole city. It stretches 1,450 meters from the Songhua River Flood Monument in the north to the Jingwei Street in the south. There are total 71 European-style and simulated European-style buildings as well as 13 buildings in Renaissance, Baroque, and Eclectic styles under protection.

It feels like Nathan Road of Hong Kong by still keeping its original road surface paved with square-shaped granite. On both sides of the street are lined with large department stores, fashion shops and well-known restaurants. Nowaday, Central Street has became a comprehensive pedestrian street offering services for accommodation, recreation, sightseeing and shopping.

"Have not been to Central Street, we cannot say have been to Harbin city", Central Street is a must-see attraction for sightseeing Harbin. With a hundred years profound cultural heritage, characteristic European style, enduring legend and glitzy night view, the street becomes synonym for romance, fashion and dignity.
