Must-see for Guiyang travel - The 1,000-Household Miao Village of Xijiang

Known as the greatest Miao town in the world, the 1,000-Household Miao Village of Xijiang is situated 36 miles northeast of Leishan nation in the Qiandongnan Miao and Dong independent prefecture in south eastern Guizhou. It includes more than 10 towns that have long been populated by nearly 1,300 Miao homes (hence the name).

The town group, known as an open-air art gallery, shows the genuine and well-preserved lifestyle and traditions of the Miao individuals. Guests can have a look at unique Miao dances, traditions, rituals, outfits and gold decorations.

The structure of the Miao individuals includes wood made homes built level upon level on a hillside marked with bamboo bedding groves. Relaxing among green hills, the town has wonderful landscapes, with terraced areas increasing up along the hills and the crystal-clear Baishui Stream streaming through. It offers an even more amazing view when lit up at night.
