At the helm of HEXL Inc., a rising player in the American health sector, is its founder Richard A. Kimball Jr.

In leading HEXL’s foray into providing innovative healthcare solutions, Richard brings to the table his solid experience in management in the context of public health. Indeed, before HEXL, he served as the Chief Strategy and Growth Officer at Accretive Health, another healthcare technology company.

At Accretive Health, Richard played a key role in business development, sales and marketing, as well as product management and engagement with the stakeholders of population health. He was responsible for setting up the groundwork for population health programs, by promoting a better relationship between hospitals and their patients.

Richard’s accomplishments at Accretive Health were especially made possible by the wide network he built throughout the healthcare business. He sat at the board of the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention in Harlem, New York, and is a trustee of the Brookings Institution, a Washington D.C.-based nonprofit organization devoted to independent research and the development of innovative policy solutions. At Brookings Institution, Richard is also a member of the Audit Committee and the Metropolitan Studies Leadership Council.

Richard possesses over two decades’ worth of experience in investment banking from working at such prominent Wall Street firms as Millennium Technology Partners and Morgan Stanley. Even then, he already showed his deep interest in the healthcare industry. He served as Managing Director, Co-head of Global Healthcare Investment Banking and Co-head of Healthcare, Consumer and Retail Equity Capital Markets.

Now, as the top man at HEXL, Richard is bent on developing dynamic population health programs that address the crisis in the healthcare system of the United States. HEXL especially aims to promote a more patient-oriented and proactive way of serving the chronically ill outside the premises of a hospital or medical facility. In addition, it is looking towards the promotion of cutting-edge healthcare solutions aided by the advent of more advanced telecommunications infrastructure.

HEXL is driving breakthroughs in telehealth and home health care, as well as chronic disease management and preventative medicine. Through these efforts, Richard and the rest of the HEXL team hopes for better patient outcomes, at lower cost for the general public.

With all of his achievements and continuing work in the realm of public health promotion, Richard (Rick) Kimball Jr. has since received many accolades, most notably the prestigious Stanford Distinguished Career Institute in 2014.
