Project Tango: VR 3D Modeling
The future is finally here. People have been wondering for years when virtual reality will become a part of people’s personal and professional lives. Google has released its latest project, “Project Tango” an open VR source that Google hopes to interest developers for the future of mobile 3D motion and depth sensing.
Not only will this new project affect developers but it will also change the way marketing companies use their strategies in reaching a vast audience of people. Google will want to be making as much money as possible from this project so it is only a matter of time before marketing companies start using this technology to make money from it as well.
Virtual reality has been talked about for years. It wasn’t until 2014 when Facebook first committed a huge pay out to acquire Oculus. Google came out with Cardboard that same year. Microsoft stepped up the game in 2015 when they introduced the HoloLens which gave developers a more augmented approach to virtual reality. It will only be a matter of time when other companies like Apple start throwing their hats into the ring.
Besides offering developers a new way to use programs, marketing companies will need to keep up with the changing trends of virtual reality as it becomes bigger. With any new technology there is usually some bug or something bigger and better that comes out shortly after. It is important that these marketing companies are able to adapt and fix the problems as soon as possible so that they can make the most of this new and innovative technology.
Google is offering to sell the Project Tango tablet for only 512 dollars. They are hoping that developers will be able to take the 3D motion, feature tracking and integrated depth sensing to a whole new level that will elevate the way virtual reality works. The tablet offer a NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor with 4 GB of RAM. It gives a powerful 1920x1200 HD display that will have any developer saying wow.
There is no clear cut choice of company the currently offers the best virtual reality options. Developers are still working to make it everything that people want. As long as companies like Google are trying to give resources to developers to enhance the technology, it is only a matter of time when it becomes the technology that everyone wants. Project Tango is just another step in the right direction for virtual reality technology.
