This new TV show has aired this summer and is as badass as they come. It is an acquired taste, though. If you manage to sit through the first couple of episodes, you’ll eventually get to the point where you are completely hooked. There is a chance you won’t even notice when it happened, because Preacher is an awe-inspiring mix of a beautiful picture, an awesome soundtrack, and the unmistakably southern feel written all over it.

The protagonist is a badass preacher with a couple of vices and a nice plot twist. Your relationship with this character is bound to be rather rocky. You’ll both like him and hate him, then like him again. Trust me, this loop is never going to end. There is also a bad to the bone female character of color you won’t be able to dislike even if you tried. Played by the beautiful and talented Ruth Negga, Tulip O’Hare is a force to be reckoned with. Speaking of amazing characters, there is one you’ll like no matter what happens. A flawed alcoholic Irish vampire with low self-esteem whose sarcasm levels go completely through the roof, what’s not to like?

This new supernatural flick is completely devoted to religion. Vampires, angels, heaven, and hell as well as days spent in a church somewhere in a backwater town filled with sinful people. A not-so-righteous past, a haunting promise, and feelings of guilt coupled with booze and self-loathing, and the strangest friendship ever. There more than one reason to watch this wonderful show!
