Positive Thinking For Networkers

by Frank Osorio Retired Loving Life
The network marketing industry is a very unique, very powerful, very exciting, and often even a very crazy place. Understanding it is key to long term success.

So here are a few tips.
Nearly 98% of companies fail within their first 2 years.  The majority of those don't even make it 6 months, and even fewer make it to their first birthday.  But for some reason, people still think that if they get in early with a start-up company, they have a better chance to succeed.  In reality,
however, when less than 2 out of 100 companies even get out of the gate, that theory fails 98% of the time.

On top of that, even very well established companies have a very low success rate for distributors because they lack simple systems, they don't have good training, or the compensation plans don't pay out much.  That doesn't mean they are bad companies or have bad products.  It just means it's more difficult to succeed.

Where am I going with this?

People get into all kinds of companies and usually believe that their company is the best...for a few months.  Did you know that the average lifespan of a distributor in a network marketing company is less than 4 months?

4 months. Then when they don't make a gazillion dollars in 4 months, they blame the company, the products, the pay plan, and everybody but themselves.

Then they quit, go join another company, and often go through the same 4 month cycle over and over. And each time, they lose more and more credibility, lose more and more friends, and burn more and more bridges.

So here's where I'm going.

People will pitch you on just about anything and everything.  When you are confident in where you are, and tell them you are committed and focused to helping everyone in your team succeed, they may still try to pitch you. But they will recognize (whether they admit it or not) that you are a solid, focused, committed, leader.

And when they are looking for their next company in a few months, they will remember that.  Nobody wants to join with someone who is wishy washy, or not 100% focused on what they are doing.

People want to join with a committed leader who they know will be by their side and help take them to the top.

So when people pitch you on their company, don't get mad about it. Don't tell them their company is dumb, or that their products are stinky, or post on facebook that they are the biggest moron you have ever met.

While those things may be true, negativity doesn't help anyone; not them, and not YOU.

Be nice.  Keep the relationship. Stay in contact.  Even check in with them to see how they are doing, and don't be afraid to throw in some hints that you want them on your team.

People like to feel wanted.  A simple, "I'd love to work with you if you ever want to check out what we're doing," doesn't go unforgotten.

It may not be in the next few months, maybe not even in the next year. But when people see that you are still in the same company, working hard, and helping others, they take notice.

And many people who pitched you on their opportunity, will join you. And some of them will realize that jumping to the next shiny deal has not gotten them anywhere.  Maybe if they focus, they can succeed. And can be your next big leader.

There will always be others claiming to be the greatest, but if you stay focused on building your business, taking the ethical high road, and always staying positive in your message, you'll always rise above.

Be committed.  Be focused.  Be nice.  And watch your business explode.

Keep pushing forward,

Frank Osorio
