The Olympus AU400 analyzer is an automated chemistry analyzer for turbidimetric, spectrophotometric and ion selective electrode measurements. Developed by Diagnostic Systems Group of Olympus America Inc., this analyzer is designed to meet the needs of small to medium size hospitals and laboratories or as a dedicated specialty analyzer for larger institutions, in single or multiple locations.

AU400 - Advanced Features and Specifications

This FDA-approved, fully automated system offers a broad test menu for routine STAT, urine and homogeneous immunoassays for protein analytes such as apolipoproteins, immunoglobulin, and complement components. With a standardized design, this analyzer offers a throughput capacity of 400 photometric tests/hour and a maximum of 800 with ISE. The device uses spot photometry technology which has a proven performance for high precision.

The chemistry analyzer has the capacity to store 80 samples, allows continuous loading, and can analyze 46 parameters at a time, if required. The AU400 also comes with safety features such as clot detection and crash prevention for the sample and reagent dispenser and a triple washing station to eliminate contamination. It uses the same reagents and user interface as larger systems. One of the main advantages of this device is its ability to load the reagents at any position in the reagent compartments. Liquid reagents, (which are highly concentrated), are supplied in wedge-shaped plastic bottles with barcode labels and require no preprocessing. High compatibility between the reagents and hardware guarantees reliability in test results and promotes efficient inventory management.
