Obtain AYUSH License by following these steps

You can only start an AYUSH business if you have an AYUSH license. As the process of acquiring this license is still offline. You don’t have much option other than to do a lot of leg work. However, if you know the right steps, you might not have to leave your house to file the application.

As India is choking under the pressure of lack of oxygen, people have started to look for alternatives. What is AYUSH certificate?

Simply put, an AYUSH certificate or an AYUSH license is the legal permission from the AYUSH ministry to manufacture and distribute ayurvedic products in India. In order to acquire this license, you have to have:

  • ·         A manufacturing plant with 1500 square ft of space to manufacture and store one type of AYUSH medicine.
  • ·         An incorporated business entity.
  • ·         GMP certification for your manufacturing facility.
  • ·         At least two persons in your business with degrees in AYUSH domain.
  • ·         At least pharmacist that expertise in AYUSH domain.

The above points make you eligible for the license. Thus, if you’re someone who makes home made medications and sells them online, you’re not eligible for the license. And just a reminder, if someone says that you too require a type of “AYUSH retail license” , they are wrong.

How to get AYUSH license in India?

The steps to get AYUSH/Cosmetic License certificate in India are as follows:

  • ·         Get the application form from the AYUSH ministry. If you can’t make a physical visit because of the lockdown and all, you can inquire via phone and they will email you the form.
  • ·         Fill the application form and attach the documents required with it.
  • ·         Send back the application form.
  • ·         Once the application is processed, and it’s found that there are no errors present in it, you’ll be given a notification telling you the date of inspection.
  • ·         Prepare your manufacturing facility so that the inspector doesn’t find any issues with it.
  • ·         Entertain the inspector once he arrives. Provide him all the amenities and necessary documents he needs to assess your facility.
  • ·         He will then create a report of inspection

·         If no issues are found in that report, you’ll obtain the AYUSH license in India.
