Headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand, Nok Air draw its name from nok, the Thai term for a bird. The airline is a low-cost airline of Thailand directing domestic activities out of Bangkok's Bangkok Don Mueang Airport.

The airline had a membership of 130 employees in 2007 and witnessed an increment of approximately 1,400 employees in 2014 respectively. Year 2013 marked Nok Air's success that reached a crescendo, resulting in the airline inducing 1,066 million Thai baht in lucre on revenues of 11.3 billion Thai baht.

The airline also promulgated about its venture with Scoot Airlines in order to shape NokScoot, an affordable regional aircraft hub out of Don Muang Airport in Bangkok. The airline also provides ferry services to domestic Island terminals.

Nok Air service over 20 aircraft. The airline shareholders consists of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (39.2%), Aviation Investment International Limited (9.9%), State Street Bank Europe Limited (6.8%), CPB Street Bank Europe Limited (6.8%) etc.
