Must Visit Places during Char Dham Yatra Pilgrimage

The holy annual pilgrimage of Char Dham Yatra is one of the most - highly revered Yatras which every Hindu makes a point to embark upon in this lifetime. This circuit takes you on the trip of a lifetime to the holy temples of Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath, and Kedarnath, and every step of the way as you make your way closer to these legendary places of worship you will be filled with immense love and tranquility for the high power above. But it is not always about the destination while traveling, it is always about the journey. Valley of Flowers (Badrinath)

Located at a distance of around an hour or 2, from Badri Vishal is the iconic UNESCO world heritage site of the Valley of Flowers. It is a must-visit if you happen to visit during the time the gates of this national park open for tourists. The journey towards it commences from Ghangaria village which you will cross to get to Badrinath Dham. What makes this place unique is the presence of numerous colorful wildflowers and one-of-a-kind plants which cannot be found anywhere else and the beauty which is unfolded in front of your eyes cannot be written in words it is truly beyond bounds.

Chopta (Kedarnath)

Considered to represent the perfect combination of nature, spirituality, religion, and adventure, Chopta is one of the most scenic destinations for getaways and vacations with the family. It is situated at a distance of around 35 km from Kedarnath Dham and is a must-visit if you have some time to spare. Add fun to your plans by going for the famous spiritual and very easy trek to the Tungnath Mandir which is also the highest Shiva temple in the world. If you go further and make your way to the top of the Chandrashila peak (1 km from Tungnath temple) you will be surrounded by the sheer brilliance of natural beauty.

Harsil (Gangotri)

Falling en route your way to the temple of Gangotri and located at a distance of around 30 to 45 minutes is a scenic oasis of Harsil. Here you will get to know what real natural beauty is all about. It is primarily a pilgrimage town that springs to life during the Char Dham Yatra season in the summer months. With a clear, glimmering blue river stream making its way through this quaint town you will be able to spend some time in close proximity to nature. It is also a very quirky and offbeat destination that can even be visited during the winter season. Not only does the whole village get completely blanketed under the white snow but it is also situated at a distance of around 1 km from the winter home of goddess Gangotri in Mukhba Village.

Govind Pashu Vihar National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary (Yamunotri)

Established in the year 1955 within the district of Uttarkashi and at just a few km of distance is the incredible home of a variety of high-altitude flora and fauna. It not only attracts wildlife enthusiasts but is also a hub for trekking enthusiasts as well since it falls en route to the popular Har Ki Dun Valley Trek. The entire route is very beautiful full of alpine meadows, and a lush green collection of forests and various colorful flowers. This place is very popular for its scenic landscape of snow-bound mountain peaks, various icy glaciers, trickling streams, and overall very serene and peaceful environment.
