Mr. Khitish Kumar Nayak Attends Oil & Gas Health And Safety Conclave at Noida.

GAIL(India) Ltd, the country’s largest gas transmission utility Company hosted Oil and Gas Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Conclave at Noida in Uttar Pradesh on the 8th and 9th of December, 2017. The two-day event was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and the heads of oil and gas PSUs of the country.

 Speaking at the curtain raiser press conference of the Conclave at GAIL’s Corporate Office in Delhi, Dr. Ashutosh Karnatak, GAIL Director (Projects) and Chairman, Oil and Gas Conclave and Shri P K Gupta, GAIL Director (HR) emphasized the importance of the operation and maintenance of the Oil and Gas Sector in terms of HSE  related issues;  bringing into the spotlight the issues that each plant / Machinery  of the Hydrocarbon Sector grapples with .He  further went on to say that keeping accident free, smooth operation of the plant on a high pedestal is of paramount importance to all .

 While supplies of and production of the vital products of transportation of the hydrocarbon products, natural gas through cross country pipeline infrastructure, refinery and petrochemical units are maintained at the optimum level to meet the requirement of the country as a whole, smooth operation of the plants are required to be maintained by mitigating the risk of any eventuality during the operation.

 As pointed out by Dr. Karnatak, the two-day conclave deliberated on various issues on the HSE matters for the smooth operation and maintenance of the system in place. More than 450 delegates from oil and gas PSUs and Private Sector Companies participated in the event including various institutions and Regulators and other stakeholders besides noted contractors.

 Referring to the vast marketing distribution network developed by the oil companies supplying essential fuels in the remotest parts, Dr Ashutosh Karnatak said that India has the second largest customer base in the world.

“With the country’s high oil import dependence, it is necessary that petroleum products be leveraged with maximum reach to end use customers across the country and importance of Health Safety and Environment issues are really very important today.”

 A total of 44 panelists from across the world from different organizations like ENOC, Dupont, Oil India, Vedanta Ltd ,MGL, Safety Erudite Inc., L&T Hydrocarbon, HPCL, GAIL, Reliance Industries Ltd., BAPCO, BHEL, EIL, IOCL, Acuizen Technologies, Accenture Management Consulting, Cairn India, DNV GL, Reliance Gas Transportation, IGL, Essar Oil, OISD, Mahanagar Gas, UL, TERI, GRI, UPES, Global Compact Network, Maharashtra Natural Gas & Ex-Officials from Organizations participated in the event.

One of the panelists on the second day of the Conclave, 9th December, 2017 was Mr. KK Nayak participated in the Panel Discussion along with other speakers of international repute, some of whom were Dr. Waddha , Group director ENOC, UAE , Dr. Chitram Laxman from Canada and Mr. Hari Kumar from UAE.

Mr. Khitish Kumar Nayak is a result oriented seasoned professional with 29 + years of cross-functional experience in Operations, Business Development, Project Management (Operations), HSE Management and Coordination, Contracts. He was born on 28th August,1966 in Odisha. He completed his B. Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering from VSSUT, Odisha in June 1988, which is the oldest and most reputed engineering college in Odisha.

He is a highly motivated, positive & goal-oriented individual, with demonstrated professionalism & attention to detail. His excellent planning, execution, monitoring and resource balancing skills and the ability to multitask under tremendous pressure and tight deadlines make him an experienced and outstanding professional. His excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a talent for problem solving through reasoned thought process, as attested by client loyalty and employer satisfaction has uplifted him to this position.

He recently completed and scored the highest percentage in IIM Lucknow training “Finance for Decision Making”, for super senior executives, from 21st November to 25th November,2016. He has received an award from the former Prime Minister of India( Dr. Manmohan Singh ) for outstanding contribution to Oman Oil & Gas Industry on 8th November, 2008 at the Indian embassy in Muscat. He has also received numerous other awards & accolades during his studies & 29 + years career from India and abroad .

Mr.K. K Nayak’s current designation is the General Manager , Environment , Sustainability  – Corporate at Vedanta Ltd (Cairn Oil & Gas), wef  October, 2016. Prior to this, while working as General Manger (Production & Operations) at Cairn India Ltd, he has contributed significantly in improving team efficiency, reducing OPEX  and in quicker execution of projects. He always encourages out-of-the-box thinking from the team as well as from outside stakeholders and tries to implement ideas if it proves to be of essential value to the company.

Recently, Mr. K.K Nayak visited the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines , Dhanbad, which is oldest IIT in India ), Dhanbad on 1st and 2nd December, 2017 for the interviewing and recruiting of students on behalf of Vedanta Ltd (Cairn Oil & Gas) . He also had a discussion at length with the Director of IIT, Dhanbad Mr Panigrahi. Mr.Khitish Nayak is an inspirational role model to many students. For one who started his life journey from a small city, Khitish Nayak is now an expert who has helped various businesses on their road to success.

Out of the 29 years of his experience, he has spent many years abroad where he has shown excellent talent and capabilities. He has a well reputed name and has established his skills in majority of the organizations, wherein he took up leadership roles to deliver amazing results for the companies .Khitish Kumar Nayak is a perfect example of the fact that determination and hard work never fails and is indeed a true inspiration to many youngsters today.
