Modern Cat Furniture: What are Your Options?

by Kevin Smith Author

Cat lovers have always been crazy about their feline friends, and modern cat furniture offers plenty of ways to keep your furry companion entertained. From cat stands or a cat tower to a cat condo for your feline friends to call home, here are some of the options you'll have available for you when looking for the perfect cat furniture design match for your kitty.

Cat Furniture Design Choices

There are plenty of factors to consider when deciding what modern cat furniture to get. You shouldn't go into the process lightly, because the last thing you want to do is end up with something that just takes up space because your cat has no interest in playing with it. You know your cat's personality better than anybody else, so ask yourself what kind of things might get your cat engaged and stimulated.

Some other factors to keep in mind include determining if the furniture you're looking at is built to support a cat of your pet's size and weight.  If you have multiple cats, you should also keep that in mind when searching for furniture. You'll want to get a piece that is strong enough to support all of the animals who may be playing on it.

Cat Stands

One of the simplest types of furniture that you may be interested in for your cat is a stand. These simple pieces may include components such as a bed, a scratching post, and dangling toys for your cat to bat at. These provide a place for your cat to come and scratch to file their nails down so they aren't clawing at your furniture instead. They'll also love resting on the stand and playing with any toys or interactive elements.

Cat Tower

Give your cats some vertical exploration with the height a tower opens up for them. These tall structures provide even more opportunities for play for your feline friend, letting them jump around from structure to structure. Similar to a stand, a tower will also provide a central post that your cat can use to scratch, giving them a much-needed outlet for this routine cat behavior.

Cat Condo

For even more playful fun, get your cat a condo to call their own. This type of furniture differs from towers and stands by providing a home for your cat with four walls and a roof over their head. Like the other types of furniture, there will often be dangling feathers, balls, or other toys to keep your cat stimulated and engaged.

By providing stimulation, exercise, and a positive distraction, modern furniture helps to make the life of a cat owner a little easier. You'll notice an improvement in your cat's mood and demeanor when they get the stimulation they need from their new furniture. This stimulation can also help to improve troublesome behavior such as scratching at furniture. Find the perfect furniture and you and your cat's lives will both improve noticeably.
