Magician from Melbourne Turning Heads

Nicholas J Johnson is known throughout Australia as the Con Man. On the surface that might not seem like a good thing. But when you consider he is actually a magician focusing on the art of the scam, it is actually a big compliment.

Nicholas performs magic shows from Melbourne to Maroochydore, where he exposes the tricks of the trade and puts on a performance that both educates and entertains.

Not surprisingly, he has won numerous awards for being a conman, a liar, a cheat and a swindler.  This includes:

He has also appeared on television shows such as A Current Affair, Sunrise and The Project.

Nicholas doesn't just entertain the masses at special shows, but also deceives the eye in front of corporate crowds, high school groups and Christmas parties. One of the favourite "bits" in his performance is on The Placebo Effect. The Placebo Effect is when you think something you do or take is going to make you feel better.

On stage, Nicholas talks of a man who lives in Brazil and calls himself John of God. John of God presents himself as a guru who can perform medical miracles and in order to perform these miracles he relies on the Placebo Effect. Nicholas hilariously "debunks" the placebo effect on stage with the help of an audience member and "the nail of destiny".
