Reading this article will let you know a struggle of a woman apart from worldly problems. It may take some of your time but it is worth reading.

Arunima  Mazi, the name given by my maternal grand mother. I am a Breast Cancer survivor. My journey to life was like moving on a undirectional boat. I started my life in a luxurious way. Playing with toy, having fun and frolick. Later on, schooling at La. Matienere college at St. Xaviers. Getting married to a business typon. So, all throughout my life my graph had plus, plus and plus.

Blessed with a son. Everything quite imaginative like a world of fantasy. No problems, no set backs, no worries and no any negativities. Suddenly, that day I felt some pain in my breast and had some bloody discharge from my breast. We hurriedly took the appointment with

Dr. Sarkar and went to show him. But I am amazed that morning was so horrifying for me. I always had plus in my life and suddenly all the graphs of life turned negative, all in minus side. I was diagnosed breast cancer. I did not really know how to react. I did not really think about the situation that I was into at that time. I had no way to express or react.

I just silently murmured - “REMOVE MY BREAST”. My husband was shocked but there was no other way. My husband discussed with the doctor about all the where  abouts my breast cancer. He also discussed about the pros and cons of the surgery.

After a long discussion, I was admitted in the hospital. A whole lot of tests where done and so many medicines I had to take I wonder that moment. I just could not believe that I had breast cancer. No family history of breast cancer and even I had no issues with my pregnancy or feeding my child, but somehow it was in my destiny.

Finally, the breast was removed. I wanted to go for an implant surgery for artificial breast. But my doctor suggested me to first use external breast prosthesis and after some years the implant surgery would be advisable.

He gave me the number of Dr. Sumitra, breast cancer rehabilitation specialist. I contacted Dr. Sumitra and her assistant took my measurement and finally I was delivered with mastectomy breast. I was also given an inner wear with pocket I use to put my artificial breast and here I go.

I gained back my confidence. I regained by previous life and life style. External breast is now an essential accessory for me. Later on, I took one extra set of external breast and I am happy about it that I got a breast cancer rehabilitation specialist in my home town Kolkata, West Bengal.

Thank you, Dr. Sumitra for the incredible work you do and the precise breast you gave me. I can freely wear all types of dresses, even I can swim with my breast made of silicone.
Thank you doctor. I wish all the mastectomy patients get similar help and regain their social life.
