Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous
In central Los Angeles you can find Hollywood Studios. Aside from being a magnet for tourism and famous film stars, it also has a large reputation for news. There is a large demand for details on the day-to-day lives of celebrities living in Hollywood.
One of the common themes of news for these people is alcohol, drug rehab and other addictions. Why do the rich and famous seem to always struggle with addictions to drugs and other substances?
Someone working in Hollywood was once asked what it was like to be around actors all the time. He told them, “What would you be like if you hadn’t heard the word ‘no’ in years?” The sad truth is that most celebrities are surrounded by a mob of servants, personal assistants, lawyers and career managers who’s only job is to make sure that the celebrity has everything they might want, including drugs.
Anyone who might normally be straightforward with a celebrity is usually controlled. This makes it hard when famous people try to obtain good and reliable counsel. Drug rehab is sometimes the only place they are given real advice and help for the many problems with which they might struggle.
Many celebrities also become famous from a very young age. Usually in Los Angeles they will be exposed to drugs before they have the maturity to reject them. Exposure is inevitable when drugs surround them wherever they might go.
Once drug-use becomes an addiction, celebrities have an army of assistants who will move heaven and earth to get them the drug. Their lawyers will also help prevent them from dealing with any of the legal consequences that might come from using drugs.
Celebrities in Los Angeles and around the world also deal with a lot of stress and are under constant observation. Because they lack real social ties it is easy to feel excluded. Drug-use provides an escape from that stress, even though rehab is most likely further down that road.
The frequency of exposure to drugs in the life of a celebrity is drastically higher than those who aren’t involved in Hollywood. Besides the constant exposure, many celebrities can afford the habit. They aren’t worried about financial consequences of addiction because most of the time they will have more than enough money to keep it going.
Taking into account all of these factors, it is surprising that there aren’t even more celebrities in Los Angeles who are addicted to a drug of some kind. Rehab is always the best option for the rich and famous, as well as those who are less fortunate.
