Learn about the Smartest Executive Sedan: Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class follows the Mercedes-Benz tradition of manufacturing fascinating, innovative, and diverse cars that fall in the premium and upper medium-size categories. It was first produced in 1993 and available as a wagon, a coupe, a sedan, or a convertible.

In 2009, the fourth-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 series was released. In 2013, the E-Class received an upgrade with a new design and offered two different faces: the standard trim with the Mercedes star on the bonnet, and the AVANTGARDE line featured a sporty design with Mercedes star on the grille.

Interior Design

The interior of the E-Class has top-quality plastics, faux leather upholstery, metal finishes, and air vents with stylish metal. The interior has some notable features which include air conditioning with climate control, DAB digital radio, satellite navigation, USB port, and Bluetooth connectivity.

  • The E 220 BlueTEC has 2.1L OM651 diesel (170 HP), with an acceleration speed of 0-100 kph in 8.4 seconds, and average fuel consumption of 16 km/L.

  • The E 350 BlueTEC has 3.0L OM642 V6 diesel (225 HP), with an acceleration of 0-100 kph in 6.4 seconds, and average fuel consumption of 13 km/L.

  • The E 250 has 2.0L M274 turbocharged petrol (240 HP), with an acceleration speed of 0-100 kph in 7.4 seconds, and average fuel consumption of 12 km/L.

  • The E 63 AMG has a 5.5L V8 engine (556 HP), with an acceleration speed of 0-100 kph in 4.2 seconds.

  • The E 63 AMG S 4MATIC has a 5.5L V8 engine (585 HP), with an acceleration speed of 0-100 kph in 4.1 seconds.

Innovative Features

The standard safety comes with seven airbags, seatbelt with pretensioners and force limiters, active head restraints, ISOFIX child seat mounts, Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive High beam Assist, Blind Spot Assist, PRE-SAFE brakes with an autonomous emergency braking, and Attention Assist that monitors driver alertness and warned him/her of any sign of fatigue.
