HERDWICK LAMB - A sweet meat, herwick lamb is popular

of Herdwick lambs is more comparatively because of the harsh climate on the
high fells of Lake District.
CUMBERLAND SAUSAGE – Talk about the food of Lake District and not mentioning
Cumberland sausage would be like talking about the movie ‘The Dark Knight’ and
not mentioning the ‘Joker’. The Cumberland sausage is so famous that it is said
that each and every butcher here has their own secret recipe for it. Basically
a pork sausage with other ingredients blended into it including loads of
spices, herbs and a dash of cereal too.
LAKE DISTRICT TEA BREAD – A perfect accompaniment with afternoon tea, this
traditional recipe not only looks beautiful but tastes so good too. The recipe
is made using tea, sounds weird but it’s true. You would find most of the
people living here having tea bread as their afternoon accompaniment.
