All these terms merely belong to engine tuning that is done electronically rather mechanically. The chip here refers to an electronic storage device which is present on the circuit board inside the engine control unit. The chip in ECU consists of values in the binary form which can only be understood by ECU’s main processor and it further uses these values to control the engine.
