Kids with accountability skills

by Sisschool Jaipur Sine International School

Accountability is really an essential and hard concept in order to teach our kids. In simple words, the accountability is a kind of responsibility for their own actions and ability to accept that responsibility is quite the undertaking for the child. However, if we set some precedent and some tips, we can make our kids walk on the road to accept responsibility and understand the accountability.

We can help our kids and students of CBSE board school in Mansarovar in understanding that being able to account for their own actions means that they are holding themselves to the high standard of behavior rather than fearing or stressing about the consequence of negative behavior.

Here are some tips through which we can inculcate accountability in kids:

Set clear expectations: we should set some clear expectations for their behavior and model what they look like such as if speaking loudly and not yelling are expected with the kids, and then the same behavior should be followed by the adults also and if we lose our cool and apologies to our kids, it will be the part of teaching accountability to the kids.

Avoid the blame game: Kids and even adults often try to justify their actions which are based on what occurred around them so we should remind our kids that regardless of how others act, they should be responsible for how they respond and ultimately for their own behavior.

Tell them what to do: Instead of what not to do, all CBSE school in Mansarovar should tell them what they should do as accountability is about something that we do before engaging in the behavior, not just the consequence for the behavior. We can help our children for being accountable for their actions by reminding them before a play day.
