Kerala is one of the most scenic places for enjoying your holidays. From natural beauty to pleasant climate, there are several reasons why Kerala is a preferred holiday destination. It is one of the most visited states in the country, snuggled between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats. Whether you love beaches or mountains, Kerala has everything to offer. You can also visit wildlife sanctuaries, tea gardens, temples and spice plantations in this beautiful destination.

Here are some of the things that you need to remember if you want to have a good time when in Kerala:

  • There are several travel agencies that offer Kerala tourism packages but if you don’t wish to choose a package, then it is better if you plan your trip in advance. Since there are several factors to consider, it helps to take some time to plan everything.
  • The best time to visit Kerala is during October to February. This is the season when the climate is pleasant throughout the day. Since this is the peak season, the rate of accommodation is very high. If you are planning to travel to the hilly areas like Wayanad and Munnar, then it is better to carry a light jacket with you because evenings can get very chilly. If you don’t want to visit Kerala during the peak season, then you can plan a trip between March to April.
  • Kerala is a destination that caters to all types of visitors. You can choose from 5 star luxury hotels or even quaint hostels. Kerala also offers basic home-stays, wildlife camps and Ayurvedic and spa hotels. You can find different types of accommodations as per your needs, budget and preferences. Make sure you are booking the hotel or home stay in advance because during the peak tourist season, you can face trouble in finding accommodations.
  • During your Kerala trip, don’t forget to go sightseeing. There is a lot to see and explore in God’s Own Country. From beaches and hill stations to temples, backwaters and wildlife sanctuaries, Kerala has something to offer to everyone. When making an itinerary, try and explore something from all major attractions so that you get to enjoy a comprehensive sightseeing experience.
  • In Kerala, you don’t have to worry about food because there is a lot of variety to try. From freshly caught fish from the river to the produce from lush, paddy fields, food in this state can be a gastronomical delight. Don’t forget to try tea, spices, coconuts, bananas and rice in Kerala. Also, try dishes like idli, dosa, appam, Puttu and sadya.
  • This state is also famous for its Ayurvedic treatments. Tourists from all over the world come to Kerala for soothing and healing Ayurvedic rejuvenation therapies. This state has been the hub of ancient healing and wellness from thousands of years. Just make sure that you are choosing a reliable Ayurvedic centre because there are quite a few fake ones. It is better to consult a certified Ayurvedic practitioner.
