iPhone 8 Plus deals and prices: what we know and what to expect?
We feel a bit sorry for the iPhone 8 Plus. Usually Apple's big screen iterative update would be set to be the new daddy of the iPhone family. But this year sees the iPhone X take that mantle and steal its thunder.
But the successor to the iPhone 7 Plus will still have a very valuable function to fulfill in the iPhone menagerie. If you want a 2017 large screened Apple sony parts , but the price of the iPhone X make you feel dizzy, then the iPhone 8 Plus is the one for you.
But how much will iPhone 8 Plus handset and deals cost? It's a good question, and TechRadar's experience and expertise make us the ideal people to predict the price. iPhone 8 Plus price: how much will it cost?
A mighty £799. That's how much the 64GB iPhone 8 Plus will cost you in the UK on launch - that's almost one hundred pounds more than the 7 Plus cost last year.
Need more memory - then your only other option is spending an extra £150 and grabbing a £949 256GB iPhone 8 Plus. Thank heavens then that Black Friday is just a few months away...
When can I buy the iPhone 8 Plus?
You haven't got long to wait before you can get your hands (note the plural - it's a huuuuge phone) on the iPhone 8 Plus. At Apple's big launch event, it confirmed that pre-order deals will be available this Friday 15 and we'll see handsets on the shelves from the following Friday - so you could be holding your shiny new iPhone 8 Plus in less than a fortnight.
If you sign up for notifications from Carphone Warehouse, it will email you as soon as pre-order deals become available on its website. Then you can choose the tariff that best suits you and know you'll be among the first to own an iPhone 8 Plus.
TechRadar predicts the best iPhone 8 Plus deal
We've searched through the records to refresh our memory of the kind of tariffs you could get the iPhone 7 Plus on at launch to get an idea of what the 8 Plus will cost on a contract plan. Unless you have a spare £800-odd burning a hole in your pocket, we're guessing this is how you're going to fund your new s7 edge lcd ...
iPhone 8 Plus | £149.99 upfront | 2GB data | Unlimited minutes and texts | £48 per month
We're afraid you are reading that correctly - £48pm was about the lowest you could get on the 7 Plus. Unless you can survive with a tiny amount of data, we don't think you'll be able to quite get away with paying less than £1300 over the course of your two year contract for the iPhone 8 Plus. Total cost over 24 months is £1301.99
Oh, we know it's high. But we can't see how iPhone 8 Plus deals can realistically get any cheaper than this. And that's just for starters - if you need more data, you'll be looking at even higher tariffs. 10GB data plans on the iPhone 7 Plus were around the £55 per month.
One way to potentially save a packet would be to combine an unlocked 8 Plus handset with a SIM only deal. Monthly plans start at a mere £3.99 a month, and you can get healthy data allowances for no more than a tenner a month. Now we know that would involve having to pay that £800-odd upfront, but if that's something you can do, then this isn't a wholly ridiculous idea.
