iOS Users Can Now Access Google Assistant in Siri

Google Assistant received a minor upgrade on iOS quite recently. With a newly added support for Siri shortcuts, users can now use commands such as “Ok Google” within Siri for launching the Google Assistant application on their iPhones and iPads.

With this update, the Smart Assistant will become more universally acceptable apart from becoming a fitting substitute for Siri.

Earlier, the Google Assistant widget could be added to the home screen of Apple devices. After the upgrade, users can access Google Assistant by using the wake phrases- Ok Google or Hey Google- after activating Siri by speaking Hey Siri.

The Google Assistant update for iOS introduces the most recent shortcuts integration. To get this update, one can either install the most recent version of Google Assistant from the Apple App Store or get updates for the present version.

Previously, Amazon and Microsoft integrated their digital assistants – Alexa and Cortana- and they were the first companies to join hands for the integration of digital assistants. To use this, users had to say commands such as “Alexa, launch Cortana. While Alexa manages all the personal requirements, Cortana takes care of the business needs.

If you want to add the Siri shortcut from any 3rd part application, then here’s how you can do so:

1.Launch the application on your iPhone or iPad.
2.Touch “Add to Siri.”
3.Now, record the word or command you would like to speak to Siri.
4.Tap on Done.

If you want to add the Siri shortcut from the settings, then here’s how you can do so:

1.Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
2.Scroll down and tap on Siri & Search.
3.Now, three shortcuts will be suggested.
4.Touch on All Shortcuts to view all actions from various apps.
5.Make a recording of a personal word or phrase.
6.Tap on Done.

This upgrade was a part of the recently released iOS 12 update. This upgrade can possibly bring added Google search to iPhone and iPad users. Users will now be able to use Google hands-free.
