Bankrobber Gallery : While you will find street art in various parts of East London, the Bankrobber Gallery in the Notting Hill area has reversed the trend by exhibiting street art within its exhibition space. This independent gallery has carved a niche for itself among other well known art galleries in the area, by featuring works done by the mysterious graffiti genius known as Banksy. A notoriously shy individual the elusive Banksy’s mystique only adds to his popularity, which draws in droves of visitors who are fans of his artwork. The Bankrobber Gallery is owned by Michael Woodhead and Robin Barton who are known to promote avant-garde contemporary artists and their artwork, like when they exhibited the blood paintings of Pete Doherty in 2007. There are 4-5 main exhibitions in the year with the rest of the period used to exhibit works of upcoming British artists and new art additions to the gallery.
